Codenames: Pictures is a team-based party game of deduction and visual interpretation where two teams race to locate their hidden secret agents. Instead of word cards, the game utilizes a grid of twenty cards featuring multi-layered, abstract illustrations that combine multiple visual concepts into a single drawing. Two opposing spymasters know the locations of their respective agents, innocent bystanders, and a game-ending assassin through a shared key card grid. Spymasters take turns delivering a single-word clue alongside a number that indicates how many images on the board connect to that specific word. The field operatives then discuss and touch the cards they believe match the clue. Correctly guessed cards are covered with the team's agent color, but choosing an enemy agent ends the turn while advancing the opponent's score, and selecting an innocent bystander immediately ends the turn. Finding the hidden assassin card causes an instant defeat for that team. The game ends as soon as one team successfully reveals all of their assigned agent cards.
